Jersey City, NJ – Mechanic Killed by Falling SUV on Garfield Ave
Jersey City, NJ (May 28, 2020) – A 29-year-old mechanic was killed after the SUV he was working on fell off a lift and crushed him. The incident took place at a shop located at the 1046 block of Garfield Avenue in Jersey City. The man was working on a Toyota SUV when it fell on his chest at around 10:40 p.m. on Sunday night, May 24th.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) were notified of the incident. No further updates have been provided at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the incident is currently in progress.
