Westfield, NJ – Pedestrian Fatally Hit at Scotch Plains Ave & S Ave W
Westfield, NJ (June 6, 2020) – On Friday afternoon, June 5th, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Westfield. The crash reportedly occurred at the intersection of Scotch Plains Avenue and South Avenue West.
An 87-year-old man was crossing at the intersection when he was struck by an oncoming car.
At this time, the identity fo the victim has yet to be released. The deceased victim was struck at around 12:52 p.m. and then transported to University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, where he was later pronounced dead.
No charges have been filed at this time. Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
