Franklin, NJ – Alexander Macniven Killed at Easton & Girard Ave
Franklin, NJ (June 6, 2020) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash that caused one car to be engulfed in flames in Franklin Township on Thursday evening, June 4th. The accident reportedly occurred at the corner of Easton Avenue and Girard Avenue at around 6:40 p.m. Initial reports revealed that a 2008 Nissan Rogue was making a left turn onto Girard Avenue when it collided with a 1999 Hyundai Elantra.
The Elantra left the roadway and the driver, Alexander Macniven, 23, from Somerset, New Jersey, was trapped inside. The driver of the Nissan, Marlene Martin, 76, also from Somerset, was able to escape the vehicle before it caught on fire. Emergency units were able to extricate Macniven and transport him to a nearby trauma center.
He was later pronounced dead. An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
