Sparta, NJ – Maria Oliveira & Two Passengers Struck By Drunk Driver
Sparta, NJ (May 29, 2020) – A man from Sparta is currently facing charges for driving while intoxicated after drifting into oncoming traffic and injuring a woman from Vernon Township, New Jersey on Tuesday, May 26th. Authorities were called to the scene of the accident on West Shore Trail at around 7 p.m. The driver, David Bauer, 59, collided with a black Mazda CX driven by Maria Oliveira.
Two passengers in the Mazda, a 76-year-old woman and an eight-year-old girl, were reportedly injured in the crash. Authorities found that Bauer had been drinking before the accident. He was charged with careless deriving, driving with an expired driver’s license, windshield obstruction, failure to keep right, and DWI.
An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
